George L. Smith State Park
George L. Smith State Park

Named after one of Georgia's great legislators, this park has many natural and
historical highlights. Visitors can tour the grist mill, covered bridge, and dam of Watson
Mill, built in 1880. Anglers and canoers will enjoy the mill pond dotted with moss-draped
cypress trees. Park guests may even see blue heron, white ibis and the threatened gopher
tortoise. The quiet beauty of this secluded park makes it one of Georgia's best kept
secrets.
