Sweetwater Creek is a slice of wilderness only minutes outside bustling downtown Atlanta. The park features a variety of natural and cultural resources, including the ruins of the New Manchester Manufacturing Company, a Civil War era textile mill. Five miles of trails, shaded streams, and water sports on the George Sparks Reservoir make this a popular outing destination.

Directions

Take I-20 west from Atlanta; exit #12 at Thornton Road; turn left and go 1/4 mile; turn right onto Blairs Bridge Road; turn left onto Mount Vernon Road and proceed to park.
